Are there things that have occurred to you, that your only explanation is, "I don't know why God ALLOWED this to happen to me?" Perhaps you ended up in jail, broke a limb, lost your job. Even worse—divorced and lonely—and got your car repossessed.
There are things that have happened to me that now looking back in retrospect (knowing what I know now), it is obvious that the enemy's fingerprints were all over them. But the question is—why did these things occur? Did I open the door to these things? My answer to me—YEP! Why? Because I believed a lie!
The only way satan (by the way, I don't capitalize his name) can legally gain access to our lives, is that he has to first get us to agree with him and believe a lie.
There are things that are spoken over our lives as we are growing up or during a contentious fight that gets wedged in the back of our minds that we go through most of our lives believing.
Then, in your heart they become your norm.
For example: My parents' relationship was broken and dysfunctional, so it became normal for me as a young man to accept dysfunction in relationships.
"We were poor growing up, so struggling is no big deal."
"My sister/brother was the 'goodie-two-shoes' and I was the black sheep or problem child in the family. So, everybody expected (prophesied) me to be crazy."
Here is a revelation: YOU HAVE BELIEVED A LIE!
What about in the areas of health, relationships, finances, parenting or success? Have you BELIEVED A LIE?
I Peter 5:8 says, Be alert, be reflective, because your enemy satan roars like a lion and is walking and seeking whom he MAY DEVOUR. "May" implies he needs your AGREEMENT.
Having the LEGAL right to destroy you was revoked when Jesus defeated him and made a show of him openly. Defeating him and taking away the keys (authority) of death, hell and the grave.
Satan hates you for many reasons. One of which is the fact that God created you for His Divine pleasure—to replace a fallen foe in worship!
The moment you are born, he was immediately tasked with the responsibility of assigning demons to your life to shield you from a revelation of God's love and plan.
Then he tries to sell us a "Benefits Package" that is riddled with death—separation from God.
He capitalizes on innocent mistakes and uncontrollable circumstances to get you to BELIEVE A LIE.
Then it becomes your "NORM"…
THE POINT: Before satan can get you to trip or fall or SIN, He first has to get you to BELIEVE A LIE. (Genesis 3)
A divorce, a dis-ease, an abortion, a failed ministry or business, a bankruptcy or failing PUBLICLY is a devastating thing, but it is not your new REALITY or your NORM!
Even after tragedy, God's highest and best is still waiting and available for you IF you DON'T BELIEVE THE LIES!
